Originals gilets make excellent turn-of-season jackets

Originals gilets are available in your choice of materials, designs and insulation levels. Our lightest gilets have a thin layer of padding inside a polyester plain weave that has been 100% recycled. They're made to a regular fit, have soft, rounded necklines and give you hook-and-loop front pockets for small personal items. At the other end of the scale are our extra-warm puffer gilets that have much more insulation and a roomier cut to fit over thicker clothes. A full front zip makes it quick and easy to put on when the weather suddenly changes on you. Made from the same polyester material on the outside, its puffy compartments contain a mixture of real duck down and feathers. Snap button front pockets provide storage space, supplemented by an inner zip closing pocket. A full stand-up collar keeps your neck warm and helps prevent cold air from getting down the front. In-between are numerous other designs, partly influenced by the latest streetwear styles and partly infused with the adidas sporting DNA.

Originals vests and gilets give warmth plus ease of movement

An Originals vest is the perfect compromise when the weather turns cooler but it's not quite cold enough to bring out a full winter jacket. Their sleeveless design allows for plenty of movement. Our lightly padded vests are easy to slip on when you just want an extra layer on top without adding any extra bulk. When you really need some serious arms-free insulation, go for the fully padded version. We also have specialist gilets for adventure trail hikers; these utility vests are made from a plain nylon weave and have the classic photographer jacket design, with chest and shoulder flap pockets, plus more handily placed pockets across the front. They will help to cool you down while you're hiking as well, with their mesh panels at the back.
